Navaratri or Dasara (Dussehra, Dashera or Dussera) is one of the most important Hindu festivals celebrated in India, Nepal and Bangladesh. The festival is related to the worship of Hindu Goddess Durga and which is also called Vijayadashami, Kullu Dussehra and Durga Puja in various parts of the Country. In Nepal it is known as Dashain. The Sanskrit word 'Navaratri' means 'nine nights'. During these nine nights nine different forms of Shakti (Mother Goddess; also known as Devi) are worshiped.
